About Larry

Born in 1940 in Queens, NY,  beginning with building his own box carts, Larry was always drawn to competitive speed racing. Once he was introduced to the world of horse training and racing in his late teens,  his life changed. He moved to a farm and as a result of spending endless time with knowledgeable trainers and vets, he developed a successful career as a racehorse trainer and harness driver. Larry applied this knowledge and his ingenuity to develop a reputation for using unconventional methods to restore damaged horses to winners. During his 60 years, he was involved with every phase of Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing.

In his book and podcast, "Against All Odds", he tells his life story that intertwines the adrenaline-pumping sport of horse racing that took an unexpected turn as he reveals the darker side of the racing world with influences from notorious Mob figures.

Larry is a unique man whose past most would not survive. He’s seen it all, done it all, and learned how to duck and dive and live through it all.

More importantly, he was always an extremely compassionate guy who took people with damaged lives and helped them as well, if he could.

Larry likes fixing things that needed fixing.
